Introduction:

My dream is to open an NGO for old laborers and handicapped ones. The purpose of this NGO is to send monthly stipends to them so that they do not face any financial crisis.

Main Story:

The reason behind this dream is that when I was studying in school, one day I was getting ready for school when I moved downstairs, I saw an old man lying on the floor in front of my house’s main door. My house was constructed at the time of British rule so it had a small main door then a small space after that stairs and a door to enter the house. On that small space which is between the main door and the stairs, he was lying. I passed by him and left for school.

When I came back home, my parents were discussing him with my uncle. They do not know who that old man was but they still got agreed to let him stay in our house. They decided that in the meanwhile they will search for his family. An old man did not want to be a burden so he started making tops of soil and sold him to the children of our area. My mother took care of him for a month.

At last, after a month my father and my uncle found his family. They went to them and told them your father is with us. He is safe so you can take him back home but his son and daughter-in-law refused to take him back. They said we cannot afford him so we are not going to do this. They tried to convince them but all in vain. As of last hope, my uncle offered them money for taking their father back home. At a specific amount of money, they got agreed to take their father back home. The next day they came to take him back but he refused. They forced him so he got agreed.

After a few days early in the morning, my father saw him sitting in front of our main door. He told my father his family again forced him to leave his house. There was no other place where he can go that is why he came back to us for shelter. He was weaker than before. The next day when we were leaving for school, we felt that the place where he was sleeping was full of the smell of urine. When we came back home, we reported this to our mother. She told our father and said him to find what is the matter?

My father went to the old man and asked him about this. He replied my urinary system has become so weak that I cannot have control over that and this is the reason due to which my family again forced me to leave the house. They said we cannot take care of you so find another place for yourself. When we came to know that we felt pity for him. My mother used to wash his clothes and gave him food. My father and my uncle again went to his house but his family refused to accept him at any cost.

“Cursed is the one who disrespects his father and mother.” (Deuteronomy).

He was very hurt due to his family’s behavior so he could not able to live more than three to four months. I was a child at that time studying in the 3rd or 4th standard. I still remember him because he was so kind to us and used to visit him most of the time.

Moral:

Your parents never considered you as a burden when you were a child. They took care of you when you are not able to do even a single task for yourself. At that time of dependency if they do not take care of you imagine what you can do at that time. By considering that time and your helplessness, is this fair when they are helpless and need you, you consider them a burden only because of your new family. It is my humble request please do not ruin your eternal life (Akhirah).

“Respect your parents and the whole world will respect you.” (Zaina Maddoo).
